Ivanti: Just 25 Percent of Knowledge Workers See Workplace as Flexible

Ivanti released its 2024 Everywhere Work report, which highlights the importance of “flexibility” in the everywhere work revolution. Of note, it was revealed that 80 percent of knowledge workers see workplace flexibility as “highly valuable,” despite just 25 percent seeing their jobs as flexible.

Other statistics included:

  • 81 percent believing that the location in which work is done should not matter if the tasks are completed.
  • 46 percent seeing inflexible employers as disrespectful.
  • 79 percent viewing remote work as “the future of professional employment.”

The report also noted that employers seeking the best talent should consider flexible or hybrid work schedules, as well as the tools, experiences and infrastructure needed to work seamlessly and securely in remote settings.

Among IT workers, 85 percent see flexible working as valuable, but only 27 percent see their employers as such.

Among leaders surveyed, only 15 percent prefer full-time, in-office staff, with more than 90 percent noting that their employees have the tools needed to be productive in a remote or hybrid work environment. Coincidentally, only 57 percent of office workers claim to have access to those tools “if they had to work remotely tomorrow.”

In all, Ivanti surveyed more than 7,700 executive leaders, IT/cybersecurity professionals and office workers in January 2024. This study was administered by Ravn Research.
