Remote Work Growth Beats Ladders’ Prediction

Remote work options remain popular despite companies’ attempts to have employees return to the office. According to Ladders’ data, by the last year’s fourth quarter, 3 million additional jobs had transitioned to permanently remote status, with 18 percent of all professional jobs across the United States and Canada hiring remote. At the end of 2021, Ladders predicted a rise to 25 percent by this year’s close of 2022; by the close of the third quarter of this year, the number had risen to 36 percent.

The Ladders Q3 2022 Quarterly Remote Work report is the result of analyses by data scientists at Ladders Inc., commencing before the pandemic took hold and continuing to the present. The data presented in the report are designed to investigate objectively how the remote work trend progressed from Q1 to Q3.

“The 11 percent increase above our prediction indicates that remote work has been embraced widely by employees and businesses and will continue to be embraced,” said Dave Fisch, CEO of Ladders. “Our data show that demand for a permanent remote work option has caused major companies to yield.”
