Nureva Microphone Mist Patents Approved in U.S. and Europe

Audio conferencing solutions provider Nureva announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and European Patent Office have each issued three additional patents for its Microphone Mist technology.

This groundbreaking platform, which is behind every Nureva audio system, underscores the company’s commitment to reinventing pro audio conferencing performance in larger spaces. The patents center around intelligent sound targeting, position-based gain control and echo cancellation, each for helping to deliver clear and natural speech intelligibility. These latest additions to Nureva’s IP portfolio, provide it with opportunity to develop new products and enhancements.

Specifically, they:

  • Disclose the ability of the microphone array to preemptively identify semi-persistent, unwanted sound sources such as HVAC systems and fans, excluding them during the targeting process. These intelligent sound identification capabilities elegantly and efficiently enhance the listening experience.
  • Allow the microphone array to use sound-source, position-based gain control processing to make specific optimizations to the microphone system.
  • Disclose the use of residual echo estimate information to derive secondary echo reduction parameters, enhance acoustic return and cancel out echoing.

“These three new patents further validate the completely original approach we have taken to delivering great audio in larger collaboration spaces,” said Nureva CEO, Nancy Knowlton. “Our investment in the Microphone Mist technology platform continues to create exciting opportunities to bring unique and compelling value to our customers.”
