Verizon Business Announces Updates to BlueJeans Software for Hybrid Workers

Verizon Business announced several updates to its BlueJeans by Verizon videoconferencing and events portfolio. The refresh is designed to “maximize engagement in a hybrid world.” Enhancements were made to BlueJeans Events, Rooms, Meetings and Mobile to improve flexibility and support dynamic, secure and interactive meetings “of any size and from anywhere.”

The BlueJeans update is designed to improve integrated collaboration with new modes of virtual communication, including BlueJean Spaces, Messaging and Collaboration Board.

Verizon Business also introduced BlueJeans Spaces, for virtual collaboration in a hybrid environment. This immersive office experience is designed to support a “more natural, individualistic and inclusive workflow for teams to ideate, activate—or just hang—together in real time.”

The new BlueJeans Collaboration Board fosters teamwork by bringing together ideas, thoughts and content into one single repository for ongoing ideation. Used separately or from within Spaces, users can jump into a virtual office or persistent strategy war room, opening up a new Collaboration Board to allow teams to efficiently capture ideas, manage and save their work to better track progress, gain cross-functional alignment and effectively get work done. New features include support for:

  • 1,000-person meetings.
  • Open breakout sessions.

Teams can create 2D and 3D virtual spaces to create 2D and 3D spaces; work together using multiple tools to improve workstreams, brainstorm, organize and socialize. New features include:

  • Closed caption translations in over 70 new languages.
  • Simultaneous interpretation for supporting up to five concurrent audio channels.
  • Background blurs.
  • Embeddable event recordings.

BlueJeans also launched a new Android version of BlueJeans Rooms for powering next-gen, premium videoconferences, and entered into a collaboration ]with Poly to run BlueJeans Rooms on Poly Studio X series, in addition to its existing certification with the Poly G7500. Verizon also announced a new native meeting experience for Glass Enterprise Edition 2 from Google. The BlueJeans Meetings app on Glass Enterprise Edition 2 takes advantage of Glass’ 8MP camera to deliver stunningly clear streaming video for hands-free videoconferencing.

“Always-on connectivity has transformed how we work, when we work, and where we work,” said Eric Spadafora, VP and GM, BlueJeans by Verizon. “Now it’s time to make work fun again.
