Logz.io Co-founder Expands Role to CTO

Logz.io, a provider of an efficient, simple-to-use observability platform, based on open source, announced company co-founder, Asaf Yigal, will undertake the role of chief technology officer, with responsibilities spanning product vision and technical evangelism as well as strategic and business partnerships.

Logz.io’s Open 360 Platform unifies log, metric and trace data into a single platform to provide full “360-degree” visibility into the health and performance of today’s complex cloud applications and infrastructure.

Open 360 is based on open-source observability technologies, including OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Jaeger. Logz.io enhances these technologies with numerous AI-based capabilities and simplifies their use to reduce the cost of ownership of observability and to reduce mean time to recovery.

For more than seven years, Yigal has spearheaded Logz.io’s product vision and delivery as its vice president of product, enabling the company to establish a market position as a unified platform based on open source. In his new role, he will focus emphasis on working directly with customers and the industry to broaden the awareness and uptake of this approach.

Recent innovations such as Logz.io’s integration of generative AI to deepen available observability context and delivery of data and cost-management capabilities are hallmarks of Yigal’s effort to help make observability simpler and more cost-effective.

Yigal noted his expanded responsibilities will include everything from seeking out new integration partners to furthering engagement with the worldwide open-source community.
Yigal has served as vice president of product at Logz.io since the company’s founding in 2015. Prior to that, he co-founded and served as vice president of product at Currensee for six years, leading the development of the company’s decision-making network for expert securities traders until it was acquired by OANDA in 2013.
