Web hosting provider Hostinger released new data indicating that Maryland tops the U.S. for percentage of remote workers. The report – which analyzed U.S. Census Bureau data on citizens reporting working from home at least once per week, January 9-February 5, 2024.
It was reported that 44.2 percent of the state’s 4.7 million population has at least one work-from-home day, translating to more than two million employees. Of those, 45.5 percent worked remotely 4-5 days, while 30.5 percent did so 1-2 days.
Other top remote-work states included:
- Colorado – 38.6 percent (1.8 million)
- Vermont – 38.2 percent (195,000)
- Utah – 37.2 percent (924,000)
- Massachusetts – 36.6 percent (two million)
- New Hampshire – 35.8 percent (399,000)
- Virginia – 34.9 percent (2.3 million)
- New Jersey – 33.8 percent (2.4 million)
- Minnesota – 33.4 percent (1.3 million)
- Washington – 32.7 million (2 million)
Coincidentally, Mississippi logged the lowest percentage of remote workers (11.38 percent), followed by Wyoming (15.6 percent) and North Dakota (17.8 percent). environment.”
