Igloo Software: COVID-19 Variant Scrambles Business Plans

Society is entering the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, and changes to the workplace dynamic once thought to be temporary have become more engrained – making digital full-scale workplace solutions imperative to effective internal communications, engaged employees and maintaining a strong company culture during a time of great transformation.

Igloo Software data from January 2020 to December 2021 revealed certain industries experienced sharper increases in the number of active monthly users on its intranet platform during the pandemic — revealing the crucial role modern intranet technologies have played in engaging the pandemic workplace.

There was a 194 percent increase in user traffic in the computer/technology industry, 105 percent increase in retail/wholesale, 85 percent increase in health care, and 69 percent increase in business services.

The number of active monthly users increased by 45 percent for companies with more than 5,000 employees and 34 percent overall. The results prove that fully integrated, end-to-end SaaS intranets have experienced a renaissance as patchwork point solutions cannot fulfill the needs of a modern, remote, and hybrid workplace.

With companies working to confront the combination of COVID-19 uncertainty and ‘The Great Resignation,’ digital workplace solutions have become essential for onboarding, training, engagement, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Igloo Software’s robust technology solutions enable organizations to fast-track productivity with online onboarding for new hires that centralizes and sequences important content for new employees – making it easier for them to quickly build knowledge and relationships and preparing team members for long-term success.
