TechBehemoths published its new survey on the state of remote work in 2024. This report polled insight from 756 professionals in 26 countries – representing an equal number of tech companies – and was conducted April 30-May 15.
Among its findings were:
- 46.1 percent of tech companies have adopted full remote work.
- Employee preference is the main reason why tech companies decided to work remotely.
- 32.6 percent of tech companies consider employees “significantly” more productive at home.
- 86.5 percent of tech companies provide video conferencing tools for their remote staff.
- 43.8 percent of tech companies have ad-hoc policies regarding remote work.
- 52.8 percent of employees still face communication problems within the framework of remote work.
- Task/project milestones are the main KPIs in productivity measurement for the tech industry.
- 31.4 percent of tech companies declared they experienced savings due to remote work.
- 29.2 percent of tech companies offer remote work training for their employees.
- 59.6 percent of tech companies say it is very likely they continue remote work in the future.
- Most tech companies rely on free apps and tools such as Google Meet and Gmail to connect with a remote workforce.
