Leostream Updates Remote Desktop Access Platform

Leostream released the latest version of its remote desktop access platform, featuring improved flexibility, support for additional third-party products and added control over policies and connection management. The updates address multiple use cases and other ways Leostream is deployed in organizations today, from universities to financial institutions to Hollywood productions.

These cover desktop and user access, scaling and load balancing across multiple Leostream gateways, as well as new functionality with advanced tools including HP Anyware, Azure, Windows 365, Red Hat OpenShift and KubeVirt.io.

New features include:

  • Support for client certificate authentication for the Leostream Web client
  • Improved power control actions for physical desktops and workstations that enable IPMI to simplify the IT task of rebooting or powering on remote physical devices
  • Added features for scheduling desktop assignments to support use cases where desktops are shared by a group of users
  • Features for fixed desktop OS credentials to support multiple users sharing applications and data on a desktop with a common login name
  • Web client improvements for improved visibility and ease of use, including visibility of error and status messages
  • Options to prioritize running desktops over stopped/idle desktops to optimize the end-user experience when users request a connection to a corporate resource
  • Streamlined scaling with no more restrictions on the number of connection brokers allowed in a cluster
  • Improved load balancing via advanced distribution of user connections across a cluster of Leostream gateways
  • Unified experience for users connecting to HP Anyware and PCoIP remote workstations cards through the Leostream Gateway
  • Streamlined management for workers using Windows 365 VMs alongside other Leostream-managed desktops
  • New KubeVirt centers can be used to integrate with any container platform that leverages KubeVirt.io, such as Red Hat OpenShift

“The latest version of Leostream is our best yet, and underscores how essential the platform has become in modern enterprises,” said Karen Gondoly, Leostream CEO. “As workforces, applications, and computing evolve, Leostream remains dynamic and adaptable to a broad spectrum of user requirements.”

The Leostream remote desktop access platform for hosted desktops and workstations offers remote access to maintain productivity, control cost and promote security with strict authentication and authorization, built on zero-trust concepts. Its connection management system eliminates clunky corporate VPNs with an ultra-efficient gateway that gives users access to the specific resources they have permission to use, automatically, regardless of their location or device.

The Leostream platform shines even in environments that rely on complex, specialty applications like energy and science; large files such as media and entertainment; real-time performance like financial services and bulletproof network security such as government and defense.
