Edgecore Launches Addition to SD-WAN Line

Edgecore Networks, a provider of traditional and open network solutions for enterprises, data centers and telecommunication service providers, has launched of the SDW102 and SDW102-L, the latest addition to its SD-WAN product line—the SDW series. The SDW102 and SDW102-L are designed for chain stores, small to medium-sized enterprises and small or home offices to address application performance issues for remote users, providing robust, secure and adaptive network services on demand.

Hybrid work is now the norm in many organizations. This shift to remote work and hybrid workspace forces organizations to take a more systematic and strategic approach to connect remote workers to applications and data. To better connect employees in multiple office locations, Edgecore provides its SD-WAN solution for organizations to improve specifically on the cost-effectiveness and complexity of traditional WANs, as well as increasing business agility. Now with its SDW102 and SDW102-L, Edgecore’s SD-WAN product line becomes more complete and flexible.

The SDW102 supports wired WAN and LAN, while the SDW102-L offers optional 4G LTE Cat. 6 with a SIM slot. The SDW102 and SDW102-L can be managed by an SD-WAN software controller, allowing users to install the controller in a data center or on a server. In addition, the SDW102 and SDW102-L can be adjusted as a hub or spoke via software. On top of traffic monitoring, Edgecore’s centralized controller can be used to set policies and prioritize traffic. The SD-WAN considers the policies and network bandwidth to route traffic to ensure the expected application performance.

SDW102 and SDW102-L Feature Highlights:

  • Multiple Options for Central Management
  1. VM in x86-based appliance
  2. VM in cloud platform
  3. ecCLOUD (Ready in Q1, 2023)
The administrator can monitor and auto-adjust remote networks with real-time feedback from premises and deploy pre-configured network paths to remote sites on a unified web GUI.
  • Zero Touch Deployment
Automated provisioning from central management with pre-configured network setup to edge devices without user intervention can improve reliability and minimize bring-up costs, while maintaining efficiency and flexibility on deployment.
  • Adaptive WAN Selection
The SDW-series provides parallel connections for load-balancing, failover, and traffic steering to ensure the high-quality and reliability of network connections.
  • Container Management
Containerized software that pushes container images to remote sites for consistent application performance and availability while reducing the connectivity cost.
  • Remote VPN
A remote worker can access the data center through a PC VPN login with four simple steps, greatly reducing the remote office roll-out time.
  • Secure Site-to-Site VPN
SDW102/SDW102-L can take a role as VPN Gateway to provide secure site-to-site VPN connections for businesses with multiple offices. It allows employees on different sites to securely share resources.
  • 4G LTE Module Support:
The SDW102-L supports Long Term Evolution (LTE) to connect the network as a main priority WAN port. It can also be used for WAN load balancing or failover.

“Hybrid working is a new normal. Edgecore is active in finding the best solution for businesses with distributed workforces. Along with the launch of SDW102 and SDW102-L, Edgecore’s SD-WAN solution addresses customers of all sizes and in all verticals,” said TT Hsu, vice president of Edgecore Networks, “The Edgecore SDW-series provides you with a simple way to embrace the beauty of SD-WAN – a plug-and-play, secure, agile, reliable mechanism to deliver enterprise-grade services to remote sites and branches.
